The embattled president said some of the leaders exuded arrogance while some of them spoke out of turn.

Ruto claimed that he had, on some occasions, been forced to call them to order due to their show of opulence, which had angered the public.

“I agree that some of our officials are arrogant, some of them speak out of turn, and some of them display obnoxious opulence, if I may say. Which does not just anger the public. Sometimes I call some of those people and I give them a piece of my mind,” Ruto said.

The president singled out Senator Caren Nyamu, revealing he had, on some occasions, sat her down and advised her to change her ways.

Why Ruto won’t dissolve Cabinet

The president defended some of the leaders, observing that some of them were young and, in some incidences, they needed his guidance as a father figure.

Ruto revealed that he’ll be making changes to his government as most Kenyans have asked him to do.

However, the head of state said he wouldn’t dissolve the Cabinet as suggested, arguing that some compromises must be made to ensure things run in government.

“I know what’s going on and I have promised that I’ll be making changes. I know you’ve said that I should clean the slate, but you see, you don’t have the job I have, and there are many I have to do to be able to get things done. I have heard the many Kenyans who’ve talked,” he added.
