In a video shared on SPM Buzz, Ruto said:
“Believe me, all these MPs, they are elected by us, the people of Kenya. You will all admit there is a lot of money spent on electing people. That is the real challenge we have. So people are not elected largely on account of what it is that they will do. People are elected because they are well resourced,”
Ruto added that, as a result, Kenyans are now forced to deal with the current leadership, which is existing.
“Unfortunately, this is the product we end up with. This is something we must interrogate. Together, we must all agree because we get the leaders we elect. I did not elect all these Members of Parliament. It is not right, people flaunting money,” he said.
