After unsuccessfully trying to find a job, he dumped his welding gear and entered the grocery business.

How did Silas start grocery business?

The 32-year-old told TUKO.co.ke that he was inspired to become a grocer to follow in his mother’s footsteps.

Having helped out at his mother’s kiosk for years, he learned the ropes and figured that would become his landing point.

The decision paid off, as he soon branched out and started his own kiosk, which has since grown exponentially.

“My mother supported me until I could stand on my own. It has now been five years of operating a standalone business,” he said.

Why did Silas dump welding career?

Silas adds that he does not regret his decision because it not only pays his bills but also gives him peace.

“I always felt misplaced in the welding industry. It is better than being employed and I feel fulfilled whenever I see my customers happy,” he continued.

His secret to success has been maintaining good communication with his clients and selling fresh produce.

Social media customers corroborated his sentiments, revealing that they always look forward to patronizing his grocery store.
