X influencer Osama Otero, during the viral space, has narrated his abduction ordeal to President William Ruto.
Ruto hosted an engaging session with Kenyan youth on the X social media platform.
The president managed to engage nearly 130,000 Kenyans on X space who joined to engage him on issues concerning governance.
Osama, an X influencer who hosted the president, narrated his abduction during the space, asking the president to look into it.
This came amidst Kenyans rallying against Osama for hosting the head of state on the social media platform.
What did Osama Otero tell the president?
Osama questioned the president, branding him a ‘liar’ and stating that the president was not empathetic to police brutality. He said:
“Mr president why do you keep quiet and love to lie a lot? You keep quiet and when you see things get out of hand you speak. There is a friend of mine who is getting buried right now but we are here speaking about the economy.”
The influencer talked of his abduction by the police, accusing them of stealing items from his house.
“Personally, the police came to my house at 3 am, and they broke into my house, and they refused to identify themselves, and that was it. We were abducted, and it was like kidnapping. I thought ni mambo ya movie. They even stole some things from my house. 12 guys arresting an unarmed citizen, and at the same, time, he was taking things from my house,” Osama added.
Ruto apologised, saying that he would look into the matter. He said.
“Thank you, my friend. We regret your situation. If that is what you have gone through, I apologize, and I will take action. No Kenyan… there will be no extrajudicial killing. There will be no River Yala. When I came into office, I promised that that will not happen under my watch. That is not right. In a very secretive way if you can send me the details of what happened. I will be able to take action because you don’t deserve the kind of treatment you went through.”
