Rex Masai’s dad, Chrisphine Odawa has asked Gen Z protesters to continue fighting for change after losing his son, who was killed while protesting against the Finance Bill 2024.

Kenyans who heard that Rex had been killed mourned him painfully since he was the first person to allegedly be killed by police during the demonstrations.

The family held the young man’s funeral service in Nairobi, and his uncle spoke on behalf of his father.

In a YouTube Video shown by Azimio TV, Rex’s dad is seen standing near his brother, who was speaking on behalf of the devastated man at the funeral service held at the St Stephen’s ACK church.

Where will Rex be buried?

He was emphatic that they were going to be there for their fallen son even though he was going to be buried in Machakos county.

“Gen Z, I will urge you to continue fighting for your parents. They have tried for many years but have not been able to do it. They have never done what you guys have shown us that you can do. We are doing this with you; we shall be pushing from behind,” he said.

Nakuru family painfully bury their son

In another story, Michael Kihuga Nyaguthie, who was sadly shot three times in the abdomen by police, was buried in Nakuru county.

Michael was shot as he was demonstrating against the Finance Bill 2024 near State House Nakuru just a week after he had buried his dear dad.

He was buried on Wednesday, July 3, and at the burial service, his mother said that she never thought that she would bury him.
