Narok Girl with Athletic Prowess Finally Gets Sponsored to High School: “She was selling vegetables”

  • Six months after others joined high school, Faith is a student at Nduroi Secondary School thanks to well-wishers Daniel Mutai and his friend Rehema Brigid Chebet

Faith Chepngeno Terer, a talented, athletic girl from Narok county has finally joined high school six months after the rest of the students were admitted to various schools.

Faith sells vegetables and trains athletics

Faith Chepngeno is the second born in a family of six and comes from a humble background with jobless parents doing everything in their power to put food on the table.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke in June 2024, Bomet Teacher Mwalimu Daniel Mutai shared that Chepngeno was a talented athlete who was passionate about the 100-and 4000-meter hurdle races.

At the time, Mutai appealed to well-wishers to help the girl get placed in a high school. She was just sitting at home, and her parents had no hope of raising the money.

“She’s been selling vegetables till she managed to buy a bag. She’s been also running every morning, meaning she loves athletics, ” Mutai revealed.

Where is Ndurio Secondary School?

After Mutai’s passionate appeal online, his friend Rehema Brigid Chebet offered to help the young girl.

Faith was admitted to Ndurio Secondary School in Nandi county to pursue her education and attend athletic training camps.

“All her personal items and fees catered for all the years, and she will be given a scholarship abroad after sitting for her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE),” said Mutai.

in another story, Kabiyet MCA Walter Teno was appalled after learning about the condition of two boys from his ward who used to herd cows on schooldays.

Teno visited the home of the two boys, identified as Bravin Kipruto, aged eight and Cornelius Kiprop, aged six, and learnt that the former dropped out of Kabiyet Township Primary.

He has since bought them school necessities and will not only take them to school on Monday, July 8, but he will also build a house for their 79-year-old great-grandmother.
