- Muriuki Wa Gataka expressed gratitude for the support received during the difficult time
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s sister, Leah Wangari Muriuki, was buried in her home in Laikipia county.
As expected, Gachagua and his wife, Dorcas, attended the solemn funeral ceremony.
How did Gachagua introduce sister’s ‘husband’?
During the funeral service, the deputy president cracked mourners up as he introduced his sharp brother-in-law (the husband to the late sister).
With his usual dry sense of humour, Gachagua introduced the widower, Muriuki Wa Gataka, to the dais.
Gachagua praised the elderly man, praising his hair and how he had taken good care of him.
“You see, his hair looks nice. Men from the past know how to take care of themselves well. From how he’s collected, he was able to ‘ingiza my sister box’. Thank you very much,” said Gachagua.
On his side, Gataka said;
“I’m so happy from the help you’ve shown us and came to the burial of this lady. She was very bright, and when we were done, I was told who had taken over.”
