  • Youths from the coastal region have asked President William Ruto to engage Gen Zs nationally rather than meeting their ‘representatives’
  • They also warned young people who will front themselves as protest leaders so that they can dialogue with the president
  • According to them, they want the president to visit each county and listen to Gen Zs as he did when he was seeking their votes

A video has emerged showing coast-based protesters calling out youths seeking to meet President William Ruto on behalf of Gen Zs protesting.

“Young people should be careful. Do not bring us hunger issues, we are also hungry and we have problems. Let it not be seen that when the president is asking to meet Gen Zs you present yourself there because you know you will be paid. You can go talk, but we have no leader. If Ruto wants to speak to the youth, let him speak to the youth countrywide like he did when he was seeking votes,” he said.

They also asked the president not to rely on a few people pretending to be Gen Z leaders.

He also warned those who have been going to see the president that they would meet their fate, which has since fallen on those who are considered to be against the majority.

“We will show you that as Gen Zs we have strength. You cannot take our issues to the president. We have not seen any leader from Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale or Taita. All are from above. We are all getting the same issues, let’s respect each other. We are protesting peacefully, so who are you to represent us?” he added.
