Led by local elders and leaders, the residents marched through Kericho town with the wheelbarrow held up.

At the wheelbarrow’s former location, an elder performed traditional rites amid cheers by the largely youthful group of boda boda riders.

The wheelbarrow was then installed at the location amid cheers by the residents, who reiterated their support for the ruling party.

UDA party’s symbol, the wheelbarrow, was brought down by angry protesters at the height of the anti-Finance Bill 2024 protests.

Why Kericho residents support Ruto

Addressing the youth, Chaik Ward MCA Mathew Korir said it is only the electorate who can decide on unseating Ruto.

Korir praised Kenya Kwanza lawmakers for standing with Ruto, adding that they did not need to apologise.

He declared that the region would remain behind the head of state, arguing that he is their son and must protect him.
